Micky, the deer population will be effected in your area. However, it will not be as noticeable this year. The lack of rain in that area has habitat looking bad. This is bad for the deer, but deer will be readily visiting the deer feeders, which is good for deer hunters. Although fawn production will be markedly down this year, you should still see plenty of deer if you have bait or water on the ground.

I would make sure to harvest some deer since there is no guarantee that things will get better before winter, when habitat is usually at its worst. The poor fawn crop will impact deer numbers into the future, but if environmental conditions improve deer can bounce back quickly in future years.
